Canvas Evaluation Survey FAQs

Thank you for volunteering to evaluate Canvas.

This guide will help you access and test Canvas so you can share your opinion of the system with Cerritos College's Technology Based Learning Committee.

If you scroll down this page, you'll find links that will allow you to easily login to Canvas and access videos and other help guides. 

Once you've explored Canvas, click the Take the Survey link so you can give the committee your feedback.

Survey Deadlines:

Group 1 (CTX 9/22 session & TBLC Committee) -- Wednesday, September 30

Group 2 (Individual testers and CTX 9/30 & 10/5 sessions) - Sunday, October 11

Group 3 (Individual testers and CTX 10/15 & 10/27 sessions) -- 12 noon Monday, November 2

 

Logging in to Canvas

To login to Canvas visit: https://cerritos.instructure.com

You will be asked for a username and password.  Your individual username and password have been sent to you in an email.  This username and password has been assigned to you and will work throughout the trial period.   If you can't find them, please email Stephanie Rosenblatt.

Once you've logged in, you'll find yourself enrolled as the instructor in three courses:

  • A blank demo course -- My Course
  • A demo geography course that contains content
  • A demo psychology course that contains content

You can do whatever you'd like to your courses: add or delete content, upload materials, change settings, publish the course,etc.

Please jot down any questions you have about Canvas as you explore the system.  You'll be able to share those questions, along with your opinions of Canvas, in the survey you'll submit.

 

Getting an Overview of Canvas

Instructure, the company that makes Canvas, has a YouTube channel full of Canvas tutorials.  There are also additional videos in their help guides.

You'll find two of these videos that provide overviews of Canvas embedded on the right.

Take the Canvas Survey

Once you've finished exploring Canvas, you're ready to submit your opinion to the TBLC. 

Please click the Take the Survey link you'll see at the top of this page to access the online survey.
