Breaking Down The Research Process
The following outline gives a simple and effective strategy for finding information for a research paper and documenting the sources you find. Depending on your topic and your familiarity with the library, you may need to rearrange or recycle these steps. Adapt this outline to your needs. We are ready to help you at every step in your research.
For this research paper, you can choose your own topic. You’ll need a minimum of four (4) scholarly sources. If you choose to add more, you are more than welcome to expand your research—just be sure not to expand your scope too wide, otherwise you won’t be able to give each of your sources the attention they deserve. Therefore, try to keep your maximum amount of sources to six (6), at most. For your research, please use the resources available through the Cerritos College Library. The Library’s website offers access to several valuable resources, such as ProQuest, EBSCOhost, and other helpful databases.
