The Street: A Film with the Homeless

Made over 6 years, THE STREET is an... intimate study of 3 homeless Montrealers...[who] experience cycles of addiction and recovery, hope and despair - but rise above the street with a sense of dignity, humanity and community.

In the Shadows Undocumented Immigration in America

This film, a modern day "Grapes of Wrath," follows Jairo and his extended family of undocumented immigrants from their home in Mexico to a dairy farm in the USA in search of a better life and a means to send money home to their struggling families. Along the way, they encounter dangerous border crossing conditions and a run-in with immigration authorities. This film explores why immigration remains an enduring issue for our country.

Dying in Vein The Opiate Generation

An exploration of opiate and heroin addiction through a cinema verite style that delves into the lives of an addict in recovery, a couple trying to get clean, a family grieving the loss of their son, and an Emergency Room Physician trying to save one patient at time.

Through these stories, the film explores the contemporary belief of 'living life pain free', and the shame and blame that exists around addiction. The film looks at the impact of socioeconomic class on our treatment system, and how a group of emergency care physicians are working to save their patients
