History 210 - Post World War II United States - Spring 2021: Finding Books

Books

Strategies for finding an Academic History Book (Monograph)

1.  Browse the books in the Bedford Series in History and Culture that the library owns - NOTE - most of these are about post 1945 history, but some cover topics before 1945 and are not appropriate for your assignment.

2.  Browse Prof. Jarrett's list of books - the library owns many of these books.  Please look up the titles in the library catalog to find them in the Cerritos College library.

3.  Use a good history encyclopedia (see the Reference tab in this guide) find an article on a topic you are interested in like "the Blacklist" or the "Vietnam War" and look at the bibliography or reference list at the end of the article.  Search for the books listed in our library's catalog.

4. You could also search the library catalog with some of the terms below to find other books.
