Your team's mission is to assess, analyze and evaluate a company and provide an overview to them on your findings, as well as your suggestions for their growth and success. 

Steps to Research

Select a U.S.-based, for-profit, publicly traded company to review.

Conduct an in-depth review of the company.  
  1. Financial reports, including stock price, and net income and profit.  Please include any other relevant financial information.
  2. Conduct an industry analysis. Identify and review the company's main competitors. 
  3. Identify the company's business divisions and main locations.
  4. Review the company's marketing materials, products, website(s), and public opinion.
  5. Assess in general how the company is performing - what is going well and what needs to be improved.
  6. Include any other pertinent information for the company.
  7. State what the company is doing well and should continue doing.
  8. State what is not going so well and strategies for improvement.
  9. Provide the team's recommendations for the company.

  10. Think through your recommendations - for example, "lower prices" may be a strategy, but how will the company be profitable?

IBISWorld - Industry Market Research, Reports & Statistics - Find competitors, compare and contrast 

 
Identify the size of the market, and identify the market share information that can be found in business articles that appear in magazines and newspapers. Conduct SWOT Analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats). Draw conclusions about a company searching in the library databases.
Utilize library databases:
Include a list of references used.  Your research is critical and should include various sources to validate the information reviewed. List the sources used at the end of the presentation.
