Breaking Down The Research Process
The following outline gives a simple and effective strategy for finding information for a research paper and documenting the sources you find. Depending on your topic and your familiarity with the library, you may need to rearrange or recycle these steps. Adapt this outline to your needs. You will be giving multiple speeches throughout the semester. This research guide can be used for all your research.
Your first speech will be an informative speech.
The week of September 24 is "Researching Week" for your informative speech.
You should already have a topic. The library session will teach you how to research your topic and how to evaluate sources for credibility.
You will need a minimum of 4 sources for your first speech assignment.
