What's on the Ballot?

Every registered voter in California gets three pieces of mail from the Secretary of State or their county election office: an Official Voter Information Guide, an Official Sample Ballot, and the Vote by Mail Ballot. You can use these documents to learn what is on the ballot.

Learning About Candidates and Propositions

You can find information about ordinances, measures, and propositions in your Official Voter Information guide and through publications put out by your county voting office.  To learn more about candidates for office, you can  visit their official websites.  You can also use the links below.

Endorsements

Some voters look to trusted organizations when they need help deciding how to vote.  These organizations might be political parties, newspaper editorial boards, or organizations that share their concerns or ethics such as a church, union, professional organization, or non-profit such as the Sierra Club or National Rifle Association.
