The National Commission on Service-Learning suggests that service-learning is a teaching and learning approach that integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.

About this Learning Community:

  1. Interdisciplinary Connection: Students will demonstrate integrated knowledge and modes of thinking from two or more disciplines.

  2. Collaborative Environment/Valued Member of a Team: Students will work in a collaborative environment as a valued member of a team.

  3. Connection to the Institution:  Students will integrate into the college culture

  4. Digital Media Literacy: 

- Students will explore their own relationships with media and digital technology.

- Students will be able to critically analyze and create media.

- Students will investigate the interrelationships between media representations
